James Dalton completed the set at Fryerning Fisheries with a 42lb mirror to join the 40lb common he has already banked from the Essex venue.
The fish, known as The Nunn, fell during a 48-hour session on the Main Lake and is a new personal-best mirror for James.
He said: “I turned up on Thursday morning to find a new south-westerly wind blowing, so after a look round I set up in a swim called The Point and found a nice hard clay spot in 11ft of water spot at 80 yards.
“I cast my rig to the area and put out 2 kg of boilies and some pellet. At 7am the next morning my right-hand rod had a drop back and I hit it straight away. After a 10-minute fight The Nunn was mine – it's my PB mirror so I'm over the moon! It also means I've had a 40lb-plus mirror and common out of Fryerning now.”
James baited with Galaxy Baits boilies and fished Galaxsea Oil pop-ups over the top. His combi rigs featured 20lb Kryston Synx and 24lb Incognito with size 5 ACE Chod hooks.
