Run of thirties from Orchid Lake

Alan Austen bagged two thirties in a night at Oxfordshire’s Orchid Lake.

Fish known as Emma, at 32lb 3oz, and Bit T, at 32lb 5oz, came during the hours of darkness from the Bay swim at the 18-acre former gravel pit.

The lake produced a number of other thirties last week, including two to in-form Anthony Hawkins. Fishing from the Top Dug Out swim, he banked Clusters at 36lb and a 31lb common. Meanwhile, venue regular Matt Bennett snared Doris, a 32lb 2oz common, from the Snags.
