Predator guide's 35lb 5oz Irish pike

Predator angling guide Pierre Monjarret took time out of his busy schedule to wet a line himself and was given a huge reward when he banked this 35lb 5oz personal best pike from Lough Derg.

The French-born rod was trying to locate any potential hotspots where he could take his clients and settled upon a 20ft deep area of the 2,200 acre water, which is located between Portumna and Killaloe.

Deadbait tactics were shunned in favour of lures and his methods soon produced the goods, with fish to 20lb falling before the biggest pike to be caught from the venue this year found the artificial bait.
