This last-gasp 39lb mirror fell to Darren Belton as he was packing up from an overnighter.
The Kent rod endured a wet and blank night before seeing fish close to an island on the morning of his departure.
The Greys-backed angler said: “I soon had my rigs cast to the spot, and was literally packing my gear on to the barrow when one of the rods was away. It was a slow plodding fight and I knew it was a good fish.”
Darren fish Mainline Hybrid and Clockwork Orange baits on a snowman rig.
