The irrepressible Wesley Coggeshall has been at it again – taking a brace of forties to bring his tally to five in under two months.
The 33-year-old ventilation engineer returned to the Kent park lake that has produced the goods for him all spring and caught mirrors of 41lb, 40lb 2oz and 36lb 4oz in just 48 hours.
Wes, who targeted an island 70 yards out, said: “I was due to be heading to the park lake for first light on Thursday morning, but last-minute changes meant I was heading there at 11.30pm on the Wednesday night.
“I managed to get in a swim that I've been catching from and out went the rods with a scattering of 16mm Sticky Krill boilies. Twenty minutes after the rods were put out I had a ripping take, which ended up being a 40lb 2oz mirror.
“The following morning I landed a 36lb 4oz mirror and during the day I was seeing fish over my spots. That night I had another take and this ended up being a 41lb mirror, which takes me to 5 forties since the start of March!”
Wes, who got through 5kg of boilies, used size 5 G-Force Straight Point hooks on G-Force Blackout hooklinks and 3oz leads.
