The first 30-pounder of the season has been landed at Devon’s Creedy Lakes.
Local angler Andy Shute bagged the 30lb 7oz common as part of a 12-fish catch that included a host of twenties.
Creedy owner Stewart Turner said: “The Tiverton angler used surface tactics to entice this particular big catch of 30lb 7oz, which was heaviest catch of the week and also the season so far.
“Andy also landed another two other great specimens off the surface, a perfectly scaled 24lb 8oz common and also one of 22lbs 2oz. In total he recorded a 12-fish bag during his session, having some action from the leger rod too. A very well deserved catch and we are thrilled for Andy.”
