A week-long session at Acton Burnell gave Sonny Chander a new personal-best common as part of a four-fish catch.
The West Midlands angler travelled to the the Shropshire venue, which is run by Rob Hales, and worked hard to bank the 42lb 8oz common and three other fish of 26lb, 28lb and 37lb.
He said: “I knew it was going to be hard as it’s a hard lake and many good anglers have been there and blanked, but I snared four jewels in the session, rewarding myself with my new personal-best common – happy days!”
The Nash fieldtester’s rigs featured size 6 Fang Uni hooks, 25lb Missing Link hooklengths and 40lb Cling On leaders. The successful hookbaits were Citruz pop-ups.
