Yorkshire waters receive stocking boost

The Environment Agency has moved to relocate over 1,000lb of fish in an attempt to regenerate the fortunes of a brace of venues.

Officials from the government body and Leeds DASA descended upon the club run Polo Pond in Kippax and netted thousands of roach, perch and bream which were then distributed between the Aire and Calder Canal and Sandwath Lake.

EA fisheries officer Peter Mischenko was involved in the operation and he said: “I’m sure the moved fish will thrive in both waters making them a great place for anglers.
