Stanwick Lakes' record broken with 43lb 2oz common

The Stanwick Lakes Fisheries’ complex record has been broken by Mick Poole with the capture of this stunning 43lb 2oz common.

The impressive specimen known as the Colonel was caught from the nine-acre Roman Lake on the Northamptonshire venue and fell to a pop-up boilie mounted on a chod rig.

The fish has already doubled its weight since it was stocked in the lake eight years ago at 20lb, and venue co-owner Phil Dunn doesn’t think it has finished growing yet. “All the fish from that batch have done fantastically well with three others already making 40lb and one 39lb."
