Dave Magalhaes finished 2011 on a high with this 38lb 10oz common caught during a quick day-session on a local stillwater.
Despite the fish showing regularly throughout the day, the 30-year-old London-based rod’s bobbins remained motionless until last knockings when his indicator slowly pulled up as he was starting to pack away.
“The fish didn’t do a lot and slowly plodded around out in the deeper water,” said the Tackle Fanatics employee. “After a few minutes I caught a glimpse of it in the clear water and knew which one it was.”
Dave fooled the impressive specimen with a special PVA bag trick and a 16mm Tails Up Yellow Wanger hookbait fished on a chod rig.
