Could this be the roach that’s just smashed the British record?
The huge fish weighed in at a staggering 4lb 9oz – 5oz over the current national best – and was caught by noted specimen hunter Warren Gaunt.
But because it was taken from Hollowell Reservoir in Northampton, a venue with a history for producing huge hybrids, it may yet be thrown out by the British Record Fish Committee.
So far one species expert has studied the images and believes it is 100 per cent genuine.
