World record carp caught at 87lb

The current World record carp has been caught from Les Graviers in France by Terry Ellwood at a weight of 87lb.

The Suffolk-based rod landed a total of six fish during his week session which also included mirrors of 64lb and 56lb.

All of his carp were caught from a spot at 180yds with 20mm Elite Baits Smokey Mackerel boilies on rigs tied with 25lb Nash Missing Link hooklinks and size 6 Solar X Wide Gape hooks.

The huge mirror known as The Scar was caught by British angler John Bryan at a World record weight of 99lb in June 2010.
