Woodlands Lakes hits top form

Up and coming match ace Luke Hawksworth came agonisingly close to breaking the Woodland Lakes match record when he placed a winning 246lb 11oz on to the scales during the latest event.

The Cleveland Angling Centre decided to adopt an all-out shallow approach after picking peg 19 on Skylark out of the draw bag at the North Yorkshire complex and it proved to be a wise decision, with mirrors and commons to 8lb falling for a banded pellet on virtually every drop.

One more fish would have seen Luke’s name inserted in the record books, with the current best standing at just over 250lb.
