Slack lining tricks brace of thirties from Bluebell Lakes

This 36lb common was the best of a brace of thirties caught by James Yarrow during a 48 hour session on Kingfisher Lake on the Bluebell Lakes complex, Northants.

With the venue virtually full with other anglers the 39-year-old Cambridgeshire-based bricklayer dropped into one of the few remaining swims and baited a spot at 45yds with 2kg of Mainline Baits Cell boilies.

With his lines slackened off to avoid spooking the carp he banked the 36lb common on the second day and followed it up with a second common of 34lb 6oz.

He mounted pop-up hookbaits on Fox Coretex and Korda IQ combi-link hooklinks and size 8 Korda Kurv Shank hooks.
