River Tees in top bream form

Heavy rain and grim conditions washed more than a touch of colour into the River Tees and Chris Hawkes took full advantage of the favourable conditions by taking a match winning 66lb 7oz of bream.

After drawing peg 168a on the Yarm stretch of the waterway in the North East Super League event, the Daiwa Cleveland Angling Centre rod decided to utilise a simple groundbait feeder with worm and was into slabs averaging 4lb from the off.

His team mate James Dent also got amongst the venues bream shoals, eventually placing 65lb 1oz on to the scales for second place.
