A group of anglers have uncovered one of the North’s best kept natural water secrets, with all of them taking 50lb plus bags of big bream and tench in recent weeks.
Individual specimens to over 7lb have been hauled on to the scales by the fishermen, who have been using simple tactics to make the most of their peg.
“The fishing is just getting better and better as the fish pile the pounds on. I’ve fished a lot of waters in the region but this really is a unique place that is open to everyone,” explained a local insider.
