The European fishing tackle trade descended on Amsterdam to showcase the new product launches set to hit the nation’s tackle shops - and once again UK design has led the way.
The exhibition, which saw all the big companies in attendance, also played host to the annual EFFTEX awards with 12 hotly-contested categories.
And one of the main highlights was Wychwood’s new Epic Bivvy designed at the headquarters in Redditch, which scooped the honours in the Best New Shelter section.
Another great victory for UK design was Best Rod that went to Hardy’s Marksman Supero – a range of top end coarse rods designed on the company’s state of the art testing facility in Alnwick.
Mel Bagnall, editor of leading trade publication Angling International who sponsored the awards, said: “It goes to prove the ingenuity and innovation within the UK. These awards weren’t just commendations, they were best in class against the finest design minds in Europe. Wychwood and Hardy both deserve to celebrate.”
