Lancashire carp record broken

The Lancashire carp record has been broken by Adi Blantford with the capture of this 47lb 6oz common from Pendle View Fishery.

The Scottish-based rod was working in Lancashire for the week and rather than paying for a B&B he decided to book a swim on the fishery with the sole intention of catching the huge specimen known as Butthead.

He fooled his new personal best on the fourth evening of his session with a Nash Bait Black Monster Squid hookbait fished over a scattering of freebies.

The previous Lancashire carp record was held by 16-year-old Isaac Johnson who caught the same fish at a weight of 45lb 8oz in June this year.
