Huge zander from the River Severn

The River Severn has produced a huge early season zander of 19lb 12oz – caught on a boilie!

The massive fish – the fourth biggest ever to be landed in the UK - came from a stretch of the lower reaches of the waterway, picking up a bait that was intended for barbel.

The Severn is no stranger to big zander having produced the current British record of 21lb 5oz to James Benfield in 2007.
