Big-fish angler Adrian Eves wrapped scalded pellets around his lead to tempt this scale-perfect 12lb 12oz River Loddon barbel into taking his hookbait.
He started his day on a Farnham AS stretch of the waterway by introducing boilies into half a dozen likely looking swims before opting to fish a Dynamite Baits sardine and anchovy bait on a size 10 wide gape hook on his leger rig.
“The water temperature was falling away, but still wasn’t too bad for the time of year,” Adrian told AT. “I had two bites in a 15-minute window. The one from this fish was unmissable. The rod tip just slammed around, but I didn’t realise how big the fish was until I got it to the surface.”
