Deadly new rig helps Carnwell bag trio of festival wins

A match angler that has won a prestigious festival three years on the trot has revealed the killer tactic that has helped him become unstoppable.

Bait Tech and Garbolino’s Paul Carnwell recently scooped the Izaak Walton Fishery festival title and believes a different presentation of a commonly used bait was vital to landing the hat trick at the Staffordshire complex.

“I’m convinced the new rig I have adapted is the reason I’ve been so successful. I fished a peg that had averaged 12lb on other days of the event and had over 100lb from it for a win using this method – it’s that good,” explained Paul.
