Brace of monster 100lb-plus conger eels caught!

Two friends have boated what is believed to be the biggest brace of conger eels in history….two huge fish with a combined weight of 209lb!

Fanatical sea anglers Simon Hughes and Mark Nelson won their strength-sapping battles with monsters from the deep weighing 106lb and 103lb while fishing over a wreck out of Torquay, Devon.

The duo, from South Wales, lowered whole mackerel hookbaits down to depths of over 280ft in order to attract the attentions of the predators that, individually, are two of the biggest fish landed in the UK since the capture of the current British boat-caught record weighing 133lb 4oz in 1995.
