'The worst venue we've ever fished' claims Downes as England crash

Drennan Team England manager Mark Downes has slammed the venue which hosted the European Championships as ‘the worst we’ve ever fished’.

Downes’ damning verdict of the Ugli Canal in Poland came after his side finished a disappointing fourth in the two-day, behind winners France.

The match turned out to be a battle for tiny 1g fry, with anglers forced to resort to fishing with size 26 hooks and joker as bait.
