Second 30lb pike in a month

A livebait freelined in gin-clear water accounted for this stunning 33lb pike caught by German predator fanatic Christian Paschmann from an undisclosed lake in his homeland.

It is the second thirty the Pro Logic consultant has taken over the past month, having landed a fish of just over 34lb from a Danish stillwater on a trolled lure two weeks before.

Christian made his latest catch after a quiet period of two blank hours spent drifting his baits over deep water. Out of the blue the livebait on his right-hand rod was hammered by the huge pike.

After a lengthy and ferocious battle, the fish was successfully boated, weighed and released unharmed. Christian was fishing with a 40g-100g weight rod and a 2m-long combi-trace and size 4 trebles.
