Massive Haiti fundraising event to be held at Bury Hill Fisheries

Support angling’s most ambitious fundraising event through a Charity Predator Day, Mega Raffle and Auction in support of victims of the recent Haiti earthquake that killed as many 200,000 people and left an estimated 1.5 million homeless.

A Predator Day, Mega Raffle and Auction will be held at Bury Hill Fisheries on Saturday, February 27th.

Renowned for their huge stocks of zander, which reach a whopping 16lb and pike which nudge 30lb, Bury Hill’s Predator Day tickets are strictly limited to just 80 anglers. With £3000 worth of Fox tackle vouchers up for grabs and with a top prize of £750 for the largest catch, make sure that you do not miss out on what is guaranteed to be a great day!

The predator match prize giving, raffle and auction will be hosted by Keith Arthur with Sky Sports also covering the event. Predator tickets cost £40 per head for bank anglers and £50 for boat anglers (minimum two anglers per boat) and can be purchased from Bury Hill Fisheries by calling (01306) 877540/883621. Please note that full payment is required when booking.

Generous support from the angling trade has seen the prize pot for the Mega Raffle run to an estimated £10,000 in just a few days and is still rising fast. With prizes ranging from rods and reels and assorted tackle items to clothing, through to luxury angling holidays, there are some great prizes to be won and all for just £1.

To check out the huge list of prizes and to buy your tickets on-line, click on the “Haiti Angling Appeal” website

Just some of the prizes to be won:

• 3 Day fully guided Cat & Carp fishing trip for 2 with EBROCATNCARP holidays worth £750.
• Pair Fox FS12000E Reels worth £400
• JRC STI RS Bivvy & Wrap worth £400

Prizes for the auction focus mainly on Pro-Angler days and these include some amazing opportunities to fish with the stars of angling such as Ian Russell, Gary Newman, Ben Hamilton, Neil Wayte, Duncan Charman, Alan Stagg and Ron Buss, all brilliant anglers in their field. With new anglers being added all the time, a number of the days will be featured as articles in leading angling publications whilst one of the days also includes rods and reels for the lucky winners donated by Korum. You can place your bids on-line prior to the auction or attend the auction on the day at Bury Hill Fisheries.

We are trying to raise an unprecedented amount of money and we urgently need your help to get details of this fundraiser out to every angler possible. Can you please pass this email on to everyone you know, who would be interested in taking part or buying a raffle ticket.

Organisers David de Vere of Bury Hill Fisheries and Kevin Coe of Llyn Y Gors Fishery and The Fishing Warehouse feel that the monies raised would be more focused and
worthwhile given to a small charity, which has a long standing presence in Haiti rather than supporting one of the bigger emergency relief charities. The pair have therefore chosen to support SOS Children, an international charity based in Cambridge which has had a presence in Haiti since 1978. You can read more about SOS Children at:
