Daiwa launches unique height-adjustable seatbox

Daiwa’s long-awaited TD300 seatbox, which features a unique height adjustment system, is finally ready for release and will be in UK tackle shops any day now.

The box was initially revealed to the UK angling market in October last year at the company’s first trade show of 2009 in Doncaster as a prototype version.

At the time, it was critically acclaimed by the trade and the angling press, with Daiwa looking to completely reset the height of the bar with respect to mid-priced seatboxes.

It is finished throughout in an appealingly understated ‘black sand’ matt enamel and is somewhat reminiscent in colour and finish of the Stealth Bomber – although, unlike the plane, this top box in the Daiwa range will retail at just a penny under £500 so it will almost certainly be showing up on the radar of many anglers.

The new TD 300 enables you to raise the height of the main seat by independently adjusting the four hand wheels on each of the main body supports. You can fish in total comfort, whether you are 6ft 4ins or 4ft 6ins tall, and the distance between footplate and seat cushion will remain constant, even when altering the main leg configuration.

All six of the box’s round legs benefit from telescopic inners, so you can get the box level on uneven ground without losing the height of the main leg.

To help get the box set up correctly, the TD300 has a spirit level at the back.
Storage wise, the box is gargantuan and features a removable base cassette system with four front drawers and a recessed lid with carry handle. All the trays can be integrated with the upper deck stacking system and tailored to suit your own particular requirements.

The top tier compartment houses two recessed layers, perfect for winders, as well as two slim long side drawers.

The fully integrated and retractable footplate works seamlessly every time, and the box is further complemented by the use of soft grip hand wheels with non-mark locking mechanisms, tilting mudfeet and a very comfy deep padded pole seat. A trolley conversion kit is included in the price of £499.
