Warrior Z rods head Fox’s new range

Fox International has this week launched its 2010 range of products, and the item that stole the limelight on our recent visit to its Essex-based showroom was the new Warrior Z carp rods, an updated version of the best selling carp rod in history.

The original was launched back in 2004 and since then has gone on to sell around 200,000 units under various guises, the most recent being the Warrior ES that hit the shops in 2007. Now it is back and better than ever. It’s 10 per cent lighter than the last offering, yet has a competitive mid-range price tag of £60.

Fox’s Media and Publicity Manager Steve Cole explained: “The Warrior carp rod has always been a best-seller for us, but as manufacturing techniques and blank materials improve you have to push things forward, hence the launch of the Warrior Z.

“We can now create a better rod at the same price point, and we are sure they’ll be as popular as ever,” added Steve.

We can reveal that there will be three fishing rods in the latest range – two are 12ft models with test curves of 2.75lb and 3lb, and the other is a 13ft 3.25lb tool. These will be accompanied by matching spod and marker rods.

The new rods are just part of a far wider Warrior line-up, with a new bivvy, bivvy table, budget monofilament and luggage all bearing the same name.

The bivvy offers excellent value as you get far more than what you pay for. It is built on the same principles as Fox’s pricier offerings and comes with a winter skin, clip-in groundsheet, frame support system, removable PVC door window, bivvy pegs, peg bag and carry bag all.

Fox’s new Warrior XT monofilament is a budget priced line and offers excellent  value for money as it is supplie don bulk spools. It can be purchased in either green or brown to match Fox’s range of terminal tackle, and comes in breaking strains of 10lb, 12lb, 15lb and 20lb.

The final product in the extended Warrior line-up is a bivvy table. It benefits from a Cam-Lok system that allows the legs to extend to 13cm, and once secured they are very sturdy. It has a large surface area and sells for £34.99
