The most marketable angler in modern-day match fishing, Steve Ringer, has just put pen to paper and signed a sponsorship contract with Dynamite Baits.
Angling Times can reveal that regular AT columnist Steve Ringer, previous winner of the two richest prizes in match fishing, Fish O¹Mania and the Parkdean Masters, has completed negotiations on a new contract with the Nottingham-based bait giant.
The new merger will see Steve team up under the Dynamite Baits banner with many old acquaintances, including Mark Pollard and Mark Sawyer for an undisclosed fee, as the company looks to further strengthen its already-impressive match consultancy team.
It is understood that Ringer¹s existing portfolio of sponsorship agreements with tackle giants Shimano and Korda will not be affected, with no direct conflict of interests between the three companies.
In one of the most astonishing sponsorship transfers the industry has seen, Steve exclusively revealed to Angling Times the reasons behind his sudden departure from the Van Den Eynde/Bait-Tech stable that supported him for many years.
"Following the move of the Ringer family business to Dynamite Baits early in the New Year, the opportunity arose for me to follow suit.
"Over the years, I have always thought of Dynamite Baits as a very innovative and forward-thinking company, and for these reasons alone the chance to work with them was just too good to miss out on as far as I am concerned," said Steve.
Dynamite Baits is obviously overjoyed with its new acquisition, and Pete Chandler, Dynamite¹s sales and marketing director, was quick to point out the attributes of having an angler of Steve Ringer's undoubted abilities and knowledge.
He said: "We are more than pleased to have Steve on board and look forward to working closely with him on developing more new and exciting products for the Dynamite Range."
