Europe’s largest fly fishing competition has joined forces with North-East tackle company Sonik Sports.
The association promises to help grow the event in both numbers of fisheries and anglers entering.
Each member venue can be plotted on www.soniksports.com/troutmasters and through the pages of Trout Fisherman magazine.
The Blyth-based company are running Sonik Troutmasters days up and down the UK where anglers can sample Sonik tackle as well as win prizes through casting competition and the like.
With around 250 waters expected to sign-up to membership, Troutmasters will now be entered by more anglers than ever before.
All entries, whether they should win a monthly badge or not, are automatically entered into a monthly prize draw, where they could win a £100 Sonik voucher, an SK3 rod worth £74.99 or a large arbour reel worth £69.99.
In addition, a Sonik SK3 fly line will be given to the captor of the best fish of the month from a Troutmasters water.
The captors of each venue’s three heaviest trout will be invited to an annual ‘fish-off’ to decide who’ll represent that fishery at the Grand Final in May, where yet more Sonik prizes will be won.
