The new range is said to be stiffer, stronger and better balanced than the original TKS system that made its UK debut just over two years ago and ensured MAP became a serious player in the pole market once again. The original range went on to smash all MAP pole sale records, with 2,500 more poles than forecast sold.
This new TKS pole collection is currently doing the rounds at the Leeda trade shows across the country, but is expected to be available in the shops by late October, although the two higher specification TKS425 and TKS625 models may not be available until December.
These new poles have been built using the same mandrel as the original series, and will be totally compatible with all existing models.
MAP brand manager Mike Robinson said: “We’ve launched the new series of TKS poles because technology moves on at such a fast rate. These new models are lighter and have greater rigidity to offer an enhanced, all-round performance for the same prices as the old ones.”
Mike also told us that there will be two top-end TKS models, that will sit above the new 625, and are likely to be unveiled in the New Year. Look out for live tests on all the new poles soon in Angling Times.
