For the last 30 years, Delkim fishing bite alarms have been at the forefront of bite alarm techology and now the UK company has launched innovative alarm accessories that should take the company to new heights. But it’s taken years of development for the company to achieve cult status in the specimen angling fraternity.
It all started back in the late ‘70s when carp anglers Del Romang and Kim Donaldson devised their first creation and put their names together to form the Delkim name.
Until then, self-powered bite alarms were still pretty much in their infancy. And the electro-mechanical devices that were available, weren’t well suited to carp fishing with the state-of-the-art ‘Heron’ antenna alarm that was invented by the late Dick Walker in the early ‘50s virtually the only audible alarm available.
The unique Delkim electronic bite alarm differed as it was designed specifically for use when targeting carp and provided both audible and visual indication of line movement.
Its lack of restrictions on line types and diameters ie braid, which further enhances the sensitivity, makes the Delkim the most versatile electronic bite indicator ever known.
Since the early days, the business has been at the top of its game and the quality, reliability, and versatility that you come to expect from Delkim has helped to establish it as the first choice for specialist anglers worldwide.
Now the family-run Bedford-based company has introduced even more creative products with its new hangers and accessories.
The NiteLite Pro Illuminating Hanger is a bobbin-style device that features a line clip, chain and bite alarm attachment. It plugs into the alarm’s power output, so that when you get an indication the head lights up from the LED inside. It replicates all the Delkim Plus functions.
A magnetic line-holding ball clip is self-tensioning and non-twisting to give a smooth strike release with no snatching or over tightening on any diameter of mono or braid.
The new DuoCarb Pivoting Hanger Support System is a must-have item for windy conditions.
It’s been in development for three years and is a groundbreaking new double-legged cradle support that stabilises any type of hanger in the wind, totally preventing ‘bobbin creep’ from occurring. It’s made entirely from carbon fibre and has a lightweight, rigid tubular device with a trombone design that allows it to be extended from 12cm to 20cm in length. It has a quick-release system and if it’s not windy, you can simply unclip it. It comes in all six Delkim colours.
