Carp personal bests broken twice for 19-year-old Nick Dunn

Hours spent searching for fish proved worthwhile for Nick Dunn when he banked this 45lb 9oz mirror and a 36lb 2oz common from a low-stock 100-acre southern pit.
After catching numerous tench and bream to double figures, the 19-year-old

Bournemouth Fishing Lodge employee finally spotted a couple of good carp over a clear spot while out in his boat.

The area then received 3kg of CC Moore Odyssey XXX boilies every week until the forecast predicted a fresh wind to blow straight into the area.

He said: “The trip got off to a flyer, with the 45lb 9oz mirror coming at first light and breaking my pb by 2lb. I headed back to the hotspot a couple of weeks later and after losing two fish I landed a personal-best common of 36lb 2oz.”

His winning rig consisted of a pop-up hookbait mounted on a chod rig tied with 20lb ESP Stiff Rig Bristle Filament and a size 4 ESP Stiff Rigger hook.
