Will Raison and England celebrate after winning the 2008 World Angling Championships

We are proud to announce that Will Raison has just become 2008 individual angling World Champion, with Drennan Team England winning the team event.

William picked up top individual honours after a stunning performance on both days, winning the first day's match and coming second in his section today - giving him 3 points overall.

Ireland's Willie Wheeler came second overall, picking up 4 points and a slightly heavier weight than Steve Gardner, who came third, also with four points.

In the team event, San Marino came second, with home country Italy in third.
