Long Campaign Cracks It

A long, hard campaign payed off in fine style when Mick Dinnigan slipped his net under this 3lb 1oz roach.

The Bramley, Yorkshire-based specimen hunter fished up to three nights a week over the winter on a Norfolk stillwater after the resident big redfins with only a couple of big twos for his efforts.

A drop back bite, his only bite of the session, on a bolt-rigged maggot feeder set-up led to his capture of the biggest roach to come from the venue for four years.

Mick, who beat the specimen fishing 3lb hooklinks and size 14 hooks baited with red maggots, intends to target the water until the end of March in the hope of improving his tally.
