Fish-in hoping to smash £250,000 barrier

Stoney and Friends are hoping to smash through the £250,000 barrier of money raised for Macmillan Cancer Support at their 2008 fish-in at Cemex Yateley Bait Tech Complex.

Many of our known “named” vice/presidents (Martin Bowler, Ian Welch, Des Taylor, Keith Arthur, David Bird, John Wilson, Tim Paisley, Ian “Chilly” Chilcott, Terry Hearn) are hoping to be in attendance on the Sunday for the presentation of the money raised to Macmillan, and Martin Salter MP is also hoping to be there.

With your help this figure should be reached and ideally exceeded. Application forms for attendance can be down-loaded at

The money raised to date has only been achieved through the generosity of anglers and their friends and family, and the Angling Trade who have so generously supported the events with raffle prizes and the like.

How Can You Help

Anglers – sign up to attend the three day fish in on the 8th/9th & 10th August. All entrance fees and sponsorship raised will go directly to Macmillan

Angling Trade – As always, Stoney and Friends are delighted to accept any tackle/bait/holiday donations for use in our raffles. As we also manage a peg board at various shows etc we are also more than pleased to accept any small items of tackle from hooks upwards!

Angling Press – Be there and photo/record this historic event

The Angling fraternity as a whole should be extremely proud of the achievements of Stoney and Friends in reaching this figure as it has only occurred as a direct result of the support from the trade and individuals alike.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Stoney and Friends to date, and we welcome you and new sponsors/individuals to join us in smashing the £250,000 figure at Yateley in August.
