We can exclusively announce news of a massive common caught from Nash Resorts Lac Cheateau Cavagnac.
The huge common weighed 64lb 9oz and was caught by a Dutch lady angler – Lilly Moonen - a potential world record common to a lady angler?
The stunning fish was caught from a swim known as Heron's Point and was caught only 2 rod lengths from the bank in the lilly-fringed margin. Nash Resorts manager
Tom Forman told us: “Although the lake is around 50 acres in size, a lot of the better fish do get caught at close range on clearer silty areas”.
Lilly’s common was tamed using a Nash 2 3/4tc Venom rod, Daiwa Reel and 18lb Bullet mono.
The successful terminal tackle set-up was constructed with a Nash Safety Bolt Bead, 3oz Lead, 20lb Nash Armourbraid and a new Nash TT Fang X hook in a size 8.
Lilly baited her spot with Nash Bait Scopex Squid Liver ready-mades fishing a matching pop up over the top.
Lilly is an accomplished angler and is no newcomer to success with big fish - last year she had an amazing carp haul from Cavagnac totalling nearly 1.5 tonnes.
